UNIC was created in 1949. For over 50 years, it has regrouped and represented all the professionals of the French horse community.
UNIC is in charge of the promotion of the French horse industry abroad and its staff is at your disposal to provide you any information or service.

WHAT IS UNIC ?


1 - UNIC, a non-profit society
UNIC is an non-profit association, its members are breeders, horse dealers and professional equestrian associations involved with all types of French horses.
Its committee is chaired by its President and counts 4 members. Its board is made up of 15 members, each being head of a professional organization or association. A Managing Director, in charge of the association, is appointed by the Board.
2 - UNIC's purpose is :
· To help any professional who wishes to purchase a horse in France,
· To provide updated and accurate information on a specific horse.

UNIC counts 36 members representing all of the French horse professionnals : Federations, Professional Organizations and Committees, Breeders' Associations, Equestrian Centers,representing the different French horse industry sectors.

4 - UNIC : 50 years of promotion
UNIC, Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle du Cheval was founded in 1949 by the National Stud (http://www.haras-nationaux.fr ) Due to a high increase in the number of horses and a decrease in their utilizations, especially for the army and for farming purposes, the National Stud created UNIC as a link between foreign purchasers, the French Administration and horse professionals in order to develop new outlets.

For over 50 years, UNIC has provided services, advice and assistance to many foreign horse professionals worldwide. Each year more and more professional and amateur horse lovers call on UNIC to help them purchase French horses, know-how or to know more about France's horse industry.

UNIC's multilingual horse specialist staff organizes tours for its members and clinics on French know-how abroad. They also welcome various foreign delegations and offer logistical support in France.

Through the years, UNIC has developed promotion, public relations and actions in order to meet and build up connections with foreign professionals.

At the onset of a new century, UNIC is proud of having represented French horses and French know-how in 5 continents.

Among its long term business relationships : Japan has purchased more than 2000 race, draft or sport horses in France since 1950.

Besides Japan, other Asian purchasers from China, Malaysia, South Korea, India, the Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka have chosen French horses and have chosen UNIC to help them find these horses.

Horse lovers all over the Middle East have purchased French bred horses for different purposes or disciplines.

The French Pure bred arab is very popular, even in Saudi Arabia.
